Captain Tsubasa
Tsubasa Oozora is an 11 year old soccer fanatic who only dreams of going up against the strongest opponents and winning the national tournament. While his father is traveling the world as a seafaring captain, Tsubasa and his mother move to the city of Nankatsu, which is known for its talented elementary school soccer teams. On his first day around town, he meets a group of children playing soccer, only to discover they are players at a rival school. In a dispute over who is allowed to use the public field for training, the genius goalkeeper Genzo Wakabayashi declares that it belongs to his school, the same one that Tsubasa will attend. When all of the players fail to pass Genzo's challenge of scoring a goal against him, Tsubasa surprises everyone when he decides that he wants to challenge this powerful new rival.
